Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Jiddie.

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Jiddie mobile application, website, support services, and related features (collectively, the "Service").

Jiddie is operated by JIDDIE TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED.

By accessing or using Jiddie, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must generally be at least 13 years old to create a Jiddie account.

However, the minimum age for using an online service may be higher in some countries or may require parental or guardian consent.

If the law where you live requires a higher minimum age, parental consent, age verification, or other requirements, you may use Jiddie only when those requirements have been satisfied.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and must be legally capable of entering into these Terms, subject to applicable consumer and child-protection laws.

2. Accounts and Guest Use

Some Jiddie features may be available without an account.

An account may be required to:

• Sync learning progress.
• Participate in server-based leaderboards.
• Receive account-based reminders.
• Preserve account-based rewards.
• Access other account features.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate information.
• Use an account that belongs to you or that you are authorized to use.
• Protect your account credentials.
• Notify Jiddie if you reasonably believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
• Keep your account information reasonably current.

You may not:

• Sell your account.
• Transfer your account.
• Rent or share your account.
• Impersonate another person.
• Create an account for someone without appropriate authorization.

3. Educational Service

Jiddie provides chess-learning and entertainment features, which may include:

• Chess lessons.
• Chess puzzles.
• Practice.
• Computer matches.
• Learning progress.
• ELO and rankings.
• Streaks.
• Gems.
• Rewards and achievements.

Jiddie is an educational and entertainment service.

We do not guarantee:

• A particular learning result.
• A particular chess rating.
• A particular competition result.
• Professional qualification.
• Tournament success.
• Admission or employment outcome.

Jiddie ELO and leaderboard rankings are in-app measurements and may not correspond to ratings issued by chess federations or other chess platforms.

4. License to Use Jiddie

Subject to these Terms and applicable app-store rules, Jiddie grants you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to install and use the Service for lawful personal use.

You may not:

• Copy or redistribute the Service except as permitted by law.
• Sell, lease, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our permission.
• Modify the Service.
• Create derivative works from the Service.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract source code, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
• Bypass technical protections or access controls.
• Use automated systems to access or manipulate the Service except where expressly authorized.

Nothing in these Terms grants you ownership of Jiddie's software or intellectual property.

5. Display Names and Leaderboards

Your display name, username, score, ELO, rank, streak, or related progress information may be visible to other users depending on the features and settings you use.

Certain leaderboard information may also be visible to guests.

You should choose a display name that you are comfortable making public.

You must not use a display name that:

• Contains personal contact information.
• Impersonates another person or organization.
• Infringes intellectual-property or privacy rights.
• Is unlawful, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, deceptive, or abusive.
• Contains malicious or misleading content.

Jiddie may remove, reset, restrict, or replace a display name when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, or maintain the integrity of the Service.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Break applicable law.
• Use Jiddie for fraudulent, unlawful, harmful, or abusive activity.
• Harass, threaten, exploit, or impersonate another person.
• Submit malicious code.
• Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, APIs, credentials, or data.
• Interfere with the availability, security, or operation of the Service.
• Manipulate rankings or progress.
• Automate gameplay without authorization.
• Fabricate activity.
• Exploit bugs.
• Duplicate or improperly obtain rewards.
• Cheat leaderboards.
• Scrape or harvest user information or leaderboard data beyond ordinary personal use.
• Circumvent usage limits, account restrictions, access controls, or security measures.
• Infringe Jiddie's or another party's intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights.

7. ELO, Gems, Streaks and Rewards

ELO, Gems, streaks, achievements, unlocks, rewards, and other virtual features are components of the Jiddie Service.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

• They are not money.
• They are not stored monetary value.
• They are not securities.
• They are not property that can be exchanged for cash.
• They have no cash value.
• They cannot be sold, transferred, or traded outside features expressly authorized by Jiddie.

Jiddie may correct balances, rankings, progress, or rewards affected by:

• Technical errors.
• Duplicate grants.
• Abuse.
• Cheating.
• Fraud.
• Unauthorized activity.

The current version of Jiddie does not sell Gems and does not currently offer subscriptions or in-app purchases.

If Jiddie introduces paid features, additional purchase or subscription terms may apply.

8. Intellectual Property

Jiddie and its licensors own or control the rights in the Service, including, as applicable:

• Software.
• User interface.
• Branding.
• Jiddie name and logo.
• Mascot and character designs.
• Original artwork.
• Lesson text.
• Course structure.
• Audio.
• Graphics.
• Animations.
• Original educational materials.
• Other original content provided by Jiddie.

These materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may not use Jiddie's trademarks, branding, mascot, artwork, or other protected materials without authorization.

Third-party components remain subject to their respective licenses.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Jiddie's intellectual property to you.

9. Feedback

If you voluntarily provide suggestions, ideas, feedback, or recommendations regarding Jiddie, you agree that we may use that feedback to improve the Service without payment or obligation to you.

You retain any rights you may have in feedback that cannot legally be transferred or waived.

10. Third-Party Services

Jiddie relies on third-party platforms and services, which may include:

• App stores.
• Authentication providers.
• Hosting providers.
• Database providers.
• Analytics providers.
• Notification providers.
• Other infrastructure or service providers.

Your use of third-party services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

Jiddie is not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control, subject to rights and liabilities that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

11. Updates and Availability

We may update, modify, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features of Jiddie for reasons including:

• Product improvements.
• Security.
• Maintenance.
• Bug fixes.
• Legal or regulatory requirements.
• Changes to third-party services.
• Operational reasons.

We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available in every country, language, device, or app version.

We may temporarily suspend parts of the Service for maintenance, security, technical, or operational reasons.

12. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Jiddie or delete your account at any time.

We may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate access where we reasonably believe that you:

• Materially or repeatedly violate these Terms.
• Manipulate rankings, progress, or rewards.
• Create a security, legal, or safety risk.
• Use the Service fraudulently.
• Attempt unauthorized access.
• Abuse other users.
• Engage in conduct that threatens the integrity of the Service.

Where reasonably practical, we may provide notice and an opportunity to contact Support.

We may take immediate action where necessary to:

• Prevent harm.
• Protect users.
• Protect the Service.
• Address security incidents.
• Prevent fraud or abuse.
• Comply with law.

Where appropriate, you may contact Support to request review of a suspension or termination.

13. Account Deletion

You may permanently delete your Jiddie account through:

Account deletion is governed by the Jiddie Privacy Policy.

Deleting your account is different from signing out or temporarily suspending an account.

Certain information may be retained where required or permitted by law, or where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal claims.

14. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Jiddie is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

We disclaim warranties that may legally be disclaimed, including implied warranties relating to:

• Merchantability.
• Fitness for a particular purpose.
• Availability.
• Accuracy.
• Satisfactory quality.
• Non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that:

• Jiddie will always be available.
• Jiddie will be error-free.
• Learning content will always be accurate or complete.
• The Service will meet every user's expectations.
• Your progress or rewards will never be affected by technical problems.

Nothing in these Terms excludes consumer guarantees, statutory warranties, or other rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Jiddie and its officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential losses arising from or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

This may include loss of:

• Profits.
• Opportunity.
• Goodwill.
• Data.
• Business interruption.

Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or limit.

Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights or remedies available to you under the law that applies to you.

16. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for losses, claims, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from your:

• Material breach of these Terms.
• Unlawful use of the Service.
• Fraudulent or abusive activity.
• Infringement of another person's intellectual-property or other rights.
• Unauthorized use of another person's account.
• Violation of applicable law.

This section does not apply to the extent a claim results from Jiddie's own unlawful conduct or from rights that cannot legally be transferred to you.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

If you have a concern or dispute regarding Jiddie, you agree to first contact us at support@jiddie.com and give us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the matter informally.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any mandatory consumer-protection rights, remedies, or legal protections that apply to you under the laws of your country or place of residence.

Where a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it may be brought before a court or other competent authority having jurisdiction under applicable law.

For users located in India, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India, subject to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction provided to consumers under applicable law.

18. Apple App Store

If you downloaded Jiddie from Apple's App Store:

• These Terms are between you and Jiddie, not Apple.
• Jiddie is responsible for the Service, its content, maintenance, and support, subject to applicable law.
• Your use of Jiddie must also comply with Apple's applicable App Store rules.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for Jiddie.
• To the extent permitted by applicable law, Apple is not responsible for claims relating to Jiddie.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the applicable provisions of these Terms and may enforce those provisions as permitted by applicable law.

19. Google Play

If you downloaded Jiddie from Google Play:

• These Terms are between you and Jiddie, not Google.
• Your use of Google Play is also subject to Google's applicable terms.
• Jiddie is responsible for the Service and its support, subject to applicable law.
• Google is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for Jiddie.

20. Additional Terms

Certain Jiddie features may have additional rules or terms.

Examples may include:

• Premium subscriptions.
• Purchases.
• Tournaments.
• Promotions.
• Referral programs.
• Community features.
• User-generated content.
• Special events.

Where additional terms apply, we will make them available before or when you use the relevant feature.

If additional terms conflict with these Terms, the additional terms will apply only to the relevant feature to the extent permitted by law.

21. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect:

• Changes to Jiddie.
• New features.
• Security requirements.
• Legal or regulatory changes.
• Changes to third-party services.

We will post the revised Terms and update the "Last Updated" date.

Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain your consent before material changes take effect.

Your continued use of Jiddie after the effective date of updated Terms means that you accept the updated Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

22. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

23. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly incorporated into them, constitute the agreement between you and Jiddie regarding your use of the Service, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

24. Assignment

Jiddie may assign or transfer its rights or obligations under these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.

You may not transfer your account or rights under these Terms without our prior written permission, except where applicable law permits otherwise.

25. Language

These Terms are originally written in English.

If we provide a translated version for convenience and there is a conflict between the English version and a translated version, the English version will control to the extent permitted by applicable law.
